Tube Map Walks: Central
Today was the turn of the eastern side of the Central Line. Starting in Epping, I headed down the line and went clockwise round the loop section, finishing back at Buckhurst Hill.
In terms of total passengers, the Central Line is the busiest line on the London Underground. In 2011/12 over 260 million passenger journeys were made with 34 trains per hour operating at peak hours making it the busiest and most intensively used railway line in the UK. It is the only tube line running east-west through the centre of London, running under the shopping centre of Oxford Street and the financial centre of the City.
Distance: around 23 miles.
