Tube Map Walks: Central
After being stuck in the office all morning, I hit the streets to enjoy the sunshine. Today I did the central section of the Central Line, from White City in the west to Wanstead in the east. The joy of long sunny evenings is that you can start out mid-afternoon and still fit in a decent walk.
Coloured red on the tube map, the Central Line serves 49 stations, 20 of which are below ground. At 46 miles (74 km) it is the longest line and is also one of only two lines on the network to cross the Greater London boundary, the other being the Metropolitan line.
Distance: around 15.5 miles.
