Have you ever licked a tomato?
Derived from the Hindi work for lick, chutneys are spiced preserves that originated in the Indian subcontinent. This recipe from the lovely folks at Delicious is a wonderful winter warmer.
This is a great 'entry level' preserve thanks to it's simplicity. Chop some tomatoes, apples and onions. Chuck in a pan with the rest of your ingredients and simmer.
Once dark and thick, spoon into sterilised jars and leave to mature. Simple.
