The Ultimate Beer Burger

It’s been a long working week and we’ve settled down to a night of television, some chilled beers and this epic burger from Mark Dredge from his book ‘Cooking with Beer’.

How much beer can you build into one burger?

  • Step 1: A toasted brioche bun - (Hefeweizen brioche buns made with Immortal Beloved hefeweizen from Cerveceria Mexicana).

  • Step 2: Mustard - (fresh wholegrain mustard made with DDH Pils, a Tiny Rebel and Fourpure collab.).

  • Step 3: Cheese ( we made a rich cheese sauce made with more Immortal Beloved hefeweizen and pimped with some homemade mustard). We also used the sauce to make a side of Mac ‘n’ Cheese.

  • Step 4: A perfectly seared steak burger patty (ok, so there’s no beer but you need a burger to make a burger!).

  • Step 5: Ketchup - (Smoky Bacon Ketchup made with Adamanteia smoked witbier from Colossus Craft Brewery).

  • Step 6: Bacon - (smoked streaky bacon caramelised with a mix of brown sugar and Sainsbury’s Taste the Difference London Porter).

  • Step 7: Onion - (sticky caramelised red onions with more Taste the Difference London Porter).

So, four tasty beers, seven items, all combined to make one awesome burger with a side of mac ‘n’ cheese. Perfect Friday night fodder…
