My, what a brew-tiful day!
Home Brew Sunday
We love beer! We really do.
Since the emergence of a modern real beer scene (that isn’t the sole preserve of the bearded pipe-smoking country pub dweller) we’ve enjoyed sampling the delights of beer with flavour (no mass produced gassy lagers here). From IPAs that are sunshine in a can, to sticky Russian porters and tangy, lipsmaking sours, we’ve embraced all things beer and have visited a fair few breweries along the way. We even joined a group at Ubrew one weekend to be share in the experience of brewing but, we’ve never gone it alone… until now!
After some careful research we decided to order our first brew kit from the fabulous Claire at Home Brewtique. We chose a kit containing all the essentials and enough ingredients for three separate brews. All we needed were a cooker (hob and oven) a sink and access to water. Simple.
Whilst the kit includes really clear recipe and timing cards, you’d be missing a trick if you didn’t check out the brilliant video tutorial available online. Read, watch and follow along and before you know it your kitchen smells of delicious wort and hops and you’ve got a batch of home brew settling in to ferment. Whilst your beer brews there’s plenty of time to… drink more beer!!!
