The King of Brownies?
Fat Elvis Brownies
It's tray bake time! When the Gents think tray bake they just don't think you can get better than a chocolate brownie. Now we all have our favourites, from classic chococlate, with or without nuts, white chocolate blondies to name but a few. However, we reckon this spectacularly and unabashedly unhealthy (i.e. happy) version from Emma, "the face behind Supper In The Suburbs" is just the ticket. So get ready for the Fat Elvis Brownie.
Elvis was famed for many things, including his love of fried peanut butter and banana sandwiches, and this brownie is a fitting tribute. The combinations are tried and tested then mixed together and turned up to 11!
Start by melting your chocolate, sugar and butter in a pan then set aside to cool a little. Once cooled whisk in your eggs, one at a time, then fold in your flour and cocoa powder. Brownies are known for their deliciously dense and moist texture, hence no additional raising agents. Next fold in your chopped peanuts. We could only get are hands on salted, so skipped adding salt to the mix.
Bake in a carefully lined pan for 25 minutes until you have that all important crust then, whilst still warm, stud your brownie with salted pretzels and banana chips. We know he didn't add cocoa to his toasties, but we reckon the King would've approved.
Ladies and gentlemen, Elvis has left the building...
