Cob Loaf with Oats
When you want a simple sandwich loaf, nothing beats a glorious bouncy cob. This recipe from the infectiously cheerful and encouraging Jack Sturgess (of Bake with Jack fame) is a perfect beginners loaf and a great standby for a late Sunday bake when lunches are required! As ever with the Gents we're prone to a tweak here and there and, despite already being a deliciously nutty loaf thanks to the 80%/20% white and wholemeal flour mix, we rolled tonight's dough in oats before its final prove. Baked in our trusty cast iron Le Cruset, this golden loaf is sure to satisfy our appetite for a simple lunch.
