The Boys Do Bake Off - Series 1, Ep.3 - Bread Week
Time to embark on our first bread 'technical bake' from the baker of bakers, Mr Paul Hollywood himself. But, unlike the bakers in the tent, we've got the full recipe!
This is a crowd pleasing, everyday white loaf using fast action yeast, so not too many long waits. A quick knead in a mixer or an old fashioned work-out on the bench to get the gluten developed and we leave our bread for it's first rise.
Once doubled in size it's time to knock back (to get rid of the air bubbles) and shape. Although a cob tends to be round you can shape this loaf how ever you like. We've opted for a free form round on our second rise and then slashed with a knife to create a diamond pattern.
