Autumn Piccalilli with Pear
We all know that piccalilli is that lurid gloopy stuff that your Grandad puts in his cheese sandwich right? Wrong! When made at home this classic accompaniment is deeply coloured and, when left to mature, has a rich and mellow flavour. This particular recipe substitutes crunchy autumn pears in place of the more traditional yet bitter radish.
